If you’ve been abused by a debt collector, we want to hear from you.

Your willingness to share your story will help us to prove to lawmakers and regulators that it’s high time the industry got held to tougher standards for treating borrowers fairly.

Note: It’s important that you are specific about the type of abuse you received. If you owe a debt and have been unable to repay it, we understand that you may be going through difficult times with the loss of a job and so on. That’s not the fault of a debt collector who is legally entitled to collect on a debt you owe.

The abuse happens when debt collectors cross the line and threaten you, insult you, or continue to harass you even after you told them in writing to stop. If you can, please use whatever facts you have such as names and dates. It will make our case for reform even stronger.

You can share your story in three ways:

  • Call our Collection Abuse Hot Line at  877-772-0956  any time, 24 hours a day. It’s an automated system which will give you the opportunity to record your story. (No person will answer the phone.)
